Formatting. Upload as PDF or use the built-in editor for a clean, readable layout. Break long chapters into sections — readers on a phone screen give up on unbroken walls of text.
Your cover. This is the single biggest factor in whether someone taps to look closer. A few rules that actually matter: a bold, benefit-led title beats a clever one — "Land Your First Job: 50 CV Templates" outsells "My Career Guide." One clear focal image, not a cluttered collage. High contrast, readable even as a small thumbnail on a phone. Pick 2–3 brand colors and reuse them across your books, so readers start recognizing your work on sight.
Your description. Describe the result, not the contents. "A 200-page novel" is a fact. "The story that will keep you up past midnight" is a reason to buy.
SemiAI, built into ReadersGet, can help draft chapter outlines, tighten prose, translate sections into Amharic, or suggest a cover concept. Treat it the way any serious writer treats a good editor: a second pair of eyes that speeds up the work you're still fully responsible for. Never publish something you haven't read all the way through yourself.
Check what similar books in your category are selling for before setting your price — the Buy page shows you the real market, not a guess. A shorter, sharply-focused book at a fair price will usually outsell an overpriced one, even a longer one. You can always run a Hot Sale or a limited-time discount later once you have real sales data.
From + Publish in the left menu: upload your file, add your cover and description, set your price, and submit. That's the whole process — no separate "listing" step.
Every author gets a clean profile handle — set yours in Account Settings. Instead of a long, forgettable ID, you get readersget.com/u/yourname. Put this link everywhere: your social bios, your posts, your DMs. It's the single easiest way for anyone to find every book you've published, in one place.
Organic (free, builds trust over time). Share your handle link and individual book links directly. A short clip talking about your book, or the story behind writing it, tends to outperform a plain "buy my book" post — show the transformation or the value, not just the product.
Facebook & Instagram Ads (paid, scales what's already working). Once a book has some organic traction, ReadersGet can run a real paid campaign for you — pay in Birr, we handle the actual setup on Meta. Find it under 📣 Facebook Ads in the left menu. A few things worth knowing before you submit one: start with a modest budget to test — you don't need a large spend to learn what resonates. Target by location and a realistic age range for your genre, rather than "everyone." Use a real excerpt or your actual cover as the ad image — generic stock imagery converts worse than the real thing. Link the ad straight to your book's page, never your general profile.
A great book with no one seeing it earns nothing. Publishing is the first step, not the last one — plan on spending real time sharing it, not just uploading it once and waiting.
ReadersGet ("we", "us", "the platform") is a digital publishing and bookselling platform serving Ethiopia and beyond. These Terms govern your use of ReadersGet as a reader, author, publisher, bookstore owner, affiliate, or editor/reviewer. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account, whether by email, Google, or phone number. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Accounts are not transferable.
As an author or publisher, you retain ownership of the content you publish. By publishing on ReadersGet, you grant us a license to host, display, and distribute that content to readers who purchase or access it, for as long as it remains published. You confirm that you have the legal right to publish the content you upload, and that it doesn't infringe on anyone else's copyright or rights.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms, infringes on intellectual property, or is otherwise unlawful, without prior notice.
Payments on ReadersGet are currently processed manually via Telebirr, Awash Bank, and CBE Birr — you submit a transaction reference, which we verify before granting access or approving a listing. This means there can be a delay between payment and access being granted.
Authors and publishers keep 70–95% of each sale, paid to your account balance and withdrawable through your Wallet. Bookstore owners keep 100% of their book sale price and set their own delivery fees; ReadersGet may separately invoice a commission on bookstore sales as described at the time this feature is active for your store. Affiliates earn a percentage commission on qualifying referrals, shown in your Affiliate dashboard.
All amounts are in Ethiopian Birr (ETB) unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to change pricing, commission rates, and fees with notice through the platform.
Bookstore profiles may be created by us on a store's behalf, or registered directly by a store owner. A self-registered store is reviewed before appearing publicly. By registering or claiming a bookstore, you confirm you are authorized to represent that business, and that the information you provide (address, contact details, inventory) is accurate.
Digital purchases are generally final once access is granted, given the nature of digital content. For bookstore orders (physical books), disputes over delivery, condition, or order accuracy can be raised through the order's dispute option and will be reviewed by our team. We aim to resolve disputes fairly but cannot guarantee a specific outcome for either party.
You may not: upload content you don't have rights to; use the platform for fraud, harassment, or illegal activity; attempt to manipulate sales, reviews, or affiliate tracking; or interfere with the platform's normal operation. Violating these terms may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination, at our discretion.
ReadersGet is provided "as is." We do our best to keep the platform reliable and accurate, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access, and we're not responsible for the accuracy of content published by third-party authors, publishers, or bookstores. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReadersGet is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of ReadersGet after a change means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the platform where reasonably possible.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any disputes will be handled in accordance with Ethiopian law.

When you use ReadersGet, we collect: account information (email, name, and phone number if you sign up by phone); authentication details if you sign in with Google; payment confirmation details you submit for manual verification (transaction codes, receipts); reading activity (what you've read or purchased, used to power recommendations); and content you publish, if you're an author or bookstore owner.
We use your information to: operate your account and process purchases; verify payments manually against Telebirr, Awash Bank, or CBE Birr; personalize your feed and recommendations; communicate with you about your account, orders, or platform updates; and calculate affiliate commissions and author/bookstore earnings.
If you sign up using your phone number, verification happens through our Telegram bot rather than paid SMS. This means Telegram is involved in that verification step; we don't share your phone number with any other third party for this purpose beyond what's necessary to complete verification.
We share the minimum necessary information for the platform to function: your name and delivery details are shared with a bookstore when you place an order; your payment reference is used internally for verification; authentication providers (Google, if you use that sign-in method) receive only what's required to confirm your identity. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Your account data is stored on servers we operate and maintain, with reasonable technical safeguards in place. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access.
You can update your account information at any time through Account Settings. You can request that we delete your account and associated personal data by contacting support, subject to any records we're required to retain for legitimate business or legal reasons (such as completed transaction history).
ReadersGet is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
